%#JENS HAS SWINE FLU :( >}

Jens Lekman has swine flu?! Poor guy. Guess I won't bee seeing him in concert anytime soon.

This is what he said on his official website:

"I picked home one last souvenir from South America, it's called the H1N1 virus. Wrongfully known as the Swineflue.

I was crossing the Atlantic when things started getting really bad, the fever was hallucinogenic and shaking me like a leaf and I grabbed the sleeve of the Air France steward. "I'm not feeling well, I should see a doctor" I said and the reply came as a brilliant mix of death anxiety and french rudeness: "Uh, yes... Terminal D... go there maybe... when we land". After that the stewards and stewardesses took long detours. A ring of empty seats formed around me. Peoples eyes were kind but determined, they read "Poor you, I really wish you all the best but if you come near me or my kid I will have to stab you with this plastic fork". I got up and went to the bathroom where I fainted.

Now I'm in quarantine for ten days. I can see the summer through my window and it's just perfect. Summer is always best through a window.
"

LOL Great guy that Jens. 'Summer is always best through a window' Excellent. Hopefully this inspires him for new songs and some great new lyrics!

Thanks to Stereogum for mentioning this!

So apart from going to the supermarket downstairs to grab a bite I had not really left the house and walked the streets since Sunday. Have been too busy working on my thesis. So I was surprised how nice the weather is. I mean, I knew it was warm and I can see the sun shining from my room, but I had no idea it was so nice. Inside it's really hot, but when you go outside it's just perfect. Not too warm. It's not like you're covered in sweat after just 15 minutes out. So I was pleasantly surprised.
I ended up buying five DVDs after meeting up with my supervisor. I'll try to send him a new and final version by Monday. Afterwards it will be the start of my summer vacation! :D
First Ratatat tomorrow evening. Can't wait. Finally a gig again. I've been missing going to concerts. Wish it was May again :(

!&STILLNESS IS THE MOVE~_

Awesome video. They even do some choreography. Love the llama! :)

^#FASHION FROM PARIS"+

Paris fashion week is over. I had a quick look at some of the collections over the last couple of days and there seem to be a lot of nice things. Again I will separate the good from the mediocre from the very bad. Starting with Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Alexis Mabille, Issey Miyake and Hugo Boss.

The Good:

Yves Saint Laurent - I basically like everything from the new Yves Saint Laurent collection except maybe two looks. Overall it's very classic. Some very interesting pants which seem to be attached to part of the waist up to the stomach. Love the shiny boots. Some footwear looks really cool. There's some good layering going on in some of the looks. Clothes fit the models very well. It's all very straight down, very slim. Here are all the looks I really like. There are many.

Balenciaga - Nice use of different fabrics. I love the grey kind of skirt pants as well as the slipper kind of shoes. Not all looks work that well. Still there's so much to love. Even some of the bracelets these kids are wearing look extremely nice and add so much to the overall style. The clothes fit perfect on these kids. My ten favourite looks from their collection:

The mediocre:

Alexis Mabille - It's more miss than hit. Some of the pieces are actually quite nice but they just don't fit with the overall look the model showcases. They dared to send out a half naked guy out on the runway. It's a spring collection, the weather won't be hot enough to walk around in just your underwear. Love their skinny tight jeans. Those seem a perfect fit and make the legs look longer. Not a fan of their shoes. They should have went with nice leather boots or shoes. Their pair of gold silver printed pants I have seen before. Not a fan of scarves either and I don't like some of their wide pants. There was one horrific look, so bad I will post it because words are not enough to explain. But here are the looks I did like.

This one is a look I really like. I just don't like the shoes.

This is that horrific look I was talking about. A big NO.

The bad:

Issey Miyake - The picture below is the first look they sent out on the runway and was also their best. It really looks nothing like the other pieces that were shown. In this look even the socks are great. Some pieces could have been way better. Most of their pants are way too wide. I prefer them skinny jeans, I'm sorry. :) Some of the pants even look like pyjama pants. Again I will post a hideous look. Can't believe they even dared to produce this. Fashion shows might feel like a circus, but this look takes it way too literally.

Their first and best look. When I saw this I thought it was going to be all kinds of amazing.

But then they sent things like this out on the runway. Is it even part of the same collection?! Ouch!

Hugo Boss - You would expect something good from Hugo Boss considering it's such a well established brand. But some of these looks don't look good at all. There were so many looks I didn't like. I'm still undecided about their shoes. Are they nice yes or no? Again I'll post a look that I just don't understand. First some things I like, but I like 'em just a little bit.

Going to jail?! What the f*ck

Going to bed now. It's already after 12.

%@MANOS AL AIRE+}

My love for Nelly Furtado has always been huge and still is even though I don't listen to her as much as I used to. She got a new single out and here's a clip of her in the studio. It's a promo and she speaks in Spanish. Her new album is entirely in Spanish as well. Her next English album will probably come out somewhere in 2010. For the Spanish album she has worked with a lot of talented people including Julieta Venegas who has mentioned she worked on two songs from the album. Nelstar recently shot the video for Manos Al Aire which involves jeeps and army prints. :)
Manos Al Aire is out tomorrow or today, I'm not sure. But I already heard it and it's very Folklorish and less Loose. I love the music on this track. The instrumental must be amazing. I have to say I do prefer Nelly singing in English and at times the Spanish feels a bit forced. Anyway it's a cool song. Good chance you'll be hearing it often on the radio this summer together with Shakira's new track which comes with wolf sounds and lots of heavy breathing. It will probably be a smash hit. Some parts remind me of her Dónde Están Los Ladrones? days and those days prior to it. In contrast to Nelly she's doing both an English as well as a Spanish version.

Bought my Patrick Wolf ticket today. Yay!
Will be posting more on fashion week. They moved from Milan to Paris. I already noticed Gaspard Yurkievich's collection being incredible, as well as Dries Van Noten (not surprised) and Yves Saint Laurent. Jean-Paul Gaultier has some very VERY nice trenchcoats and Givenchy of course brings cool footwear!
I took some pictures of this wall the night I went to see The Brothers Bloom. You can seen those here via Vimeo.

Then I decided to add some other pictures I took yesterday of myself. It's repetition and movement. It's just for fun.

Also for The Ones 2 Watch's New Wave George Mavrikos. I like these two pictures. Styling Paul Joyce. Make-up Elizabeth Hsieh. Shows that with good positioning you already create some nice pictures.
