I attempt to see Inglourious Basterds again in some minutes. Hope it's not sold out.
Saw Antichrist last night. First half the only great thing about the film was Charlotte Gainsbourg yellow rain coat. I didn't think the cinematography is that great as people say it is. But I guess it just has to do with my taste. Slow-motion sequences like in this film, making the image seem like a moving painting, are not my thing. The film is heavy in symbolism and I felt the first half only gained importance when things are revealed during the final minutes of the film. I already kind of gave up on it by then, thinking it would not be likely that I would want to see the film ever again. But as things are explained a bit more and the story becomes more layered, the whole thing became really interesting again and had me thinking whereas in the beginning I felt there was no suspense at all or food for thought. I don't understand what all the fuzz is about though about it being so explicitly violent and stuff. Yes there are like two scenes that are very tough to watch for some people because of the things that occur in it. But Martyrs, for example is much more gory.
