_+IN SEARCH OF A MIDNIGHT KISS"|

All wannabe filmmakers take notice. You got to see this film as it will truly inspire. In Search Of A Midnight Kiss is shot in black and white and shows that as long as you have a good script and good actors, it won't matter if you don't get that film look. In Search was filmed on HDV cam to which I must admit it takes some minutes getting used to as the look has this really amateur feel. But the script is so great and the actors, especially Sara Simmonds who plays Vivian, perform as well as the actors you find in films with a much bigger budget, that you easily forget that the film was made on a small budget. So only imagine this film having been made by this big studio, I'm sure it would have been an even bigger hit. Now it's one of these small idnependent films which has received lots of buzz. I wanted to see it for a while already and I was lucky to see it at SMART where I work. We got a sneak preview, 'cause the film isn't released here yet. It's a very funny film, very recognizable and just very authentic. The characters are very believable and I like that their lives don't end up being picture perfect. They're all flawed, but they do their best to work on it, like we all do. But really for everyone who want to make a film, but believes a film which doesn't have the look of that of a film with a bigger budget won't be able to compete with other films or won't find any real recognition, has to think again. For Alex Holdridge this is his third feature length film and it's a real success. Like for instance Once, which also was made on a low budget, the film just works, 'cause it's good. And that's what it's all about. If you tell a good story and just execute it well you don't need anything else. So go see it and start working on your own film! Just get a group of friends together, 'cause that's basically what Holdridge does who works with the same group of people on all his films. As a result his cinematographer plays one of the characters and I believe even contributed to the film's soundtrack. In sum, watch this film and be inspired.
