"=ÇA MARCHE#^

I'm home again after a long bus trip (it had a 1.30h delay!) but enjoyed myself listening to my I-pod and reading The Fountainhead. Me and my friend went out dancing, saw a live broadcast outside on the 'grande place' of the opera Carmen, visited a museum by night and went for a quick trip to Bruxelles. Girl lives in such a cute pretty blue house that looks like a shop from the outside and the inside is fully decorated because the woman who used to live there left all her stuff that she and my friend's two housemates are allowed to use. So you find pillows with bear prints, kitchen towels with a pedigree of who used to rule over Britain, tiny mugs, several rugs, and weird masks on the walls :D I'll be posting pictures later or tomorrow...

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA Just found out the new Wolf Parade album has leaked!!
Also new Band Of Horses as well as We Are Scientists, so much catching up to do already...

After listening to Wolf Parade it's time to go to bed. Had another nice evening at the job, no idea why I enjoy it this much, but I really do! ;)

=_LONG WEEKEND}%

So I had the most amazing Saturday on Sunday with Yeasayer, going out afterwards with a friend and staying at her place and then this morning hanging out. And now I find the new MGMT album has leaked so I'll take a listen! :DD
Yeasayer were great. They played about every song of the second album and instead of just playing them exactly as on the record they managed to give them a real live treatment with the result that the songs sounded even more fresh. They extended the best parts of some of the songs like with I Remember and they brought the ooohs and aaahs for songs like Madder Red (my favourite of Odd Blood). Chris Keating, I love this guy. He can do no wrong. He looked good he sounded good. When they returned for their encore they said they were going to do three more songs. First one was Grizelda and you could feel the slight dissapointment also from me. Like many others I think, I thought they had already played every song of their new album so now it was time for three All Hour Cymbals classics! I love Grizelda though, got nothing bad to say about that track, but I wanted some old stuff! But after Grizelda you knew there were only two more songs left to play and those were going to be Sunrise and 2080. When those two started Chris really came alive and his voice reached new heights. Mmmmmmmmmmm I could listen to him all day. The crowd was good, I was standing at the front with my friend and people around us were dancing. Everyone was very enthusiastic. I knew it was going to be good when I walked in at 7.30 pm and it was already very crowded. After songs like O.N.E. and Almbling Alp people went wild and also before the encore the crowd kept screaming for more. They're such a good live band and their mix of styles make for a very interesting night out. At times it was like being at a beach party or Vampire Weekend at Lowlands of last year. Would really love to see these guys again. I took a couple of pictures, not many, was too busy enjoing the gig, I'll post them another time. I'm at my parents' and I don't have the cable to connect my cam to my laptop here. Still no internet at my own place. Probably need to find a new someone who can provide me with a solid connection and more importantly, someone who I can trust to be pay the bills on time!

Some people made videos, this is one of them

On June 29th Wolf Parade might release a double album or an LP plus EP! :DDD They say they've recorded like 80 minutes of new material and want to release all of it as they feel every song is worth releasing! Can't wait, you know how much I love my Wolf Parade ;D

Spring has officially started. Weather is good. Been wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts. Summer can't come to soon

No internet has meant no Chat Roulette, a good thing

!{A COLLECTION OF WILD THINGS+'

I'm not going to watch these 'cause I happen to basically have no idea what exactly the story is about other than this kid and his huge imagination which gets him in contact with these creatures called the wild things. It could be that that's all there is and that I happen to have actually told you the entire story just right now. I don't know. But something tells me there's way more to tell than the info I just gave you. Like I said, I basically have no clue what this film is about and I don't want to know. I want to find out when I see Spike Jonze's version of the story at the cinema. But for those of you who are interested I've been looking for some previous adaptations of the book on YouTube and found some clips. They include stop-motion animation as well as hand drawn shorts.

There's even a cool Playmobil version LOL I'll watch it once I've seen the Spike Jonze movie! :))

I might go and see Handsome Furs tomorrow night at Paradiso, one fifth of Wolf Parade in Amsterdam, I need to show some support!

PS: Tegan And Sara's new album Sainthood is very good and maybe even better than their last one The Con. I used to not want to like them and it took me a long time to get over myself, but I really like them now especially Sara's voice. That is, I think it's Sara's voice. Those two are very identical. ;) Anyway, new album is worth checking out, lots of fun and catchy songs. My favourite right now is the second song on the album called Don't Rush.

&*SUNSET RUBDOWN+}

I didn't plan to go see Sunset Rubdown, so I basically went on a whim. Just got home from seeing them perform in the Patronaat, which is like 2 minutes away from my place on bike. I thought the price to see them was 20 euros, don't know how I got that thought burned into my mind, 'cause it turned out to be 12,50, that's what I found out when arriving home around 8pm. Because recently I kept feeling bad for not going to see a band which I like, even if just a little, when I was more than able to go and when it wasnt that expensive. So finding out it was only 12,50 I gathered around all the coins that I could find 'cause I figured you might had to pay in cash which is the case at the Paradiso in Amsterdam. Luckily for me I had 12,50 euros in coins :) So I jumped on my bike and got to watch them perform live. It was soooo good. Much better than I expected. I mean, I expected it to be good, but they're not one of my favourite bands, I have to say I have hardly listened to their albums and for some reason so far their songs havent really stuck. I'm still waiting for that one song to hit me and which will make me an instant fan. Maybe it's because most of their songs are pretty long and at times one song seems to contain multiple songs, that's how layered their songs are. Sunset Rubdown, if you didn't know, is a band formed by Spencer Krug who is one of the two lead singers of Wolf Parade(!). Dan Boeckner, the other singer also has his own band together with his wife called Handsome Furs and I have to say of the two I always preferred Handsome Furs over Sunset Rubdown. But having seen Sunset Rubdown I have to say Sunset comes closest to Wolf Parade, more than Handsome Furs does. The energy is the same and Spencer's vocals are so strong. It doesn't matter what he sings or whatever sound he makes it all sounds amazing. So I had a really good time. However, I do get annoyed still by people around me who just dont move. With a band like Wolf Parade or Foals I don't need any help, 'cause I know their songs inside out and I can go completely wild on my own. When the first chords start I immediately recognize the song and I'll explode. But with a band like Sunset Rubdown of whom I don't know all the songs, I could use a little help now and then just to get me a bit more in the mood. There was only this one guy in front of me who moved, but apart from him I was surrounded by people who just stood watching. On the other side I saw some people moving a bit more. Maybe it would have been better to stand there. But anyway, I was surprised and I had a good time. I'm glad I went 'cause when I arrived home this evening around 8 I already started to feel bad for not going. So I'm more than happy I went. So now there's nothing to regret and I don't have to wonder what it would have been like if I went, 'cause I know. Still, Foals, Bloc Party, Wolf Parade again, Late Of The Pier, would love to see those bands live!

^@Dag för Dag_&

Wolf Parade didn't come alone. As their supporting act they brought Dag för Dag whom I had not heard about at first until I found out they were going to be the support act and I checked them out. But I wasn't impressed when i heard one of their songs via Last.fm. But on Tuesday they were great live. They brought a drummer who went all out. He made their performance so good. So as soon as I can find more music from them I will go and listen to it. I'm real bad though 'cause I was thinking why can't I find any music of them online to download?! And then I reminded myself of the fact that on Tuesday night they actually sold copies of their EP real cheap. Should have just bought one, but no, of course not :)
So here some more pictures from Wolf Parade as well as Dag för Dag!
And just so you know, I didn't take these pictures I was too busy dancing to the music :)

(#EPIC)"

They were amaaaaaaaaaaaaaazing!!! They were greaaaaaaaaat! I went Crazzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzy! I went WILD!!!! I didn't hold back at all. AT ALL! I cant believe that there were people there just standing, not moving, just looking up. I felt bad for them that they just couldn't let themselves go and get wild and into it like I did and the people around me. I knew it was going to be crazy, I knew people would go wild and I knew I would join. And I'm so proud of myself for not holding back. 'Cause sometimes you feel a bit uncomfortable when you're the only one who moves to the music when everyone else is standing still. So then you kind of hold back. But this time, like with Cold War Kids, but this time even more, waaaay more. I went all out. I was completely into it from the very start every song. And some guys around me as well. I didn't care I came all by myself. I just threw my own party. It was the most amazing thing. I would kill to see these guys again. They're the best. THE BEST. I'm not overreacting here. There are other bands I love but none of the bands I know got that punch that Wolf Parade has. Their music is made to go crazy on. Some bands have upbeat tracks, but there's something about these songs by Wolf Parade that make their songs major, huge. I love these guys. They made my week, my year. Highlight, definitely. At the end some people around me started to really jump which was a bit dangerous as it was a bit slippy because of the beer on the ground which people kept spilling. But fortunately I didn't fall, and yes I jumped with them :) I jumped. And at the end, 'cause I knew the setlist. At the end Fancy Claps came on and I knew it. I had my hands up in the air from the very start. I was throwing my arms around, clapping, everything. I went for it. It was the most amazing thing. And again, I can't believe people went to this gig standing still for all these minutes. How could you? This was the gig I wanted to see the most, the most anticipated. Before they started I had these feelings in my stomach, I felt a bit nervous. I couldn't wait any longer. And it took a while before they came on stage, because they later explained in the small room someone else was playing (Citizen Cope I believe) and that performance was a bit silent so Wolf Parade couldnt play yet, cause Wolf Parade are LOUD. So therefore we had to wait a bit but it was soooooo worth it. It was epic. And they sound so good live. The guitars, everything. I feel like talking about this all night. If I'm ever able to see these guys again, I sooooo need to go. I loved it, every second. I surrendered myself to them completely. Oh do I love their music. I will say it, and there's no longer any doubt, they are my favourite band. I love Bon Iver, The National, Beirut etc. etc. but I'm 100% sure none of those bands will get me as crazy and wild as Wolf Parade can get me. And I thank them for that. Best gig ever.

)^TONIGHT: WOLF PARADE@#

I'm extremely excited, 'cause the wolves are in town! Tonight will be one of the best nights, watching one of the best bands perform live, one of my favourites. I can't wait. It's going to be the best concert I've been to so far. The crowd will go wild!
Apparently this will be their setlist with Fancy Claps as their last song! Best choice as it is the one song that really got me into them in the first place. I love this band.

+-GOD DOESN'T ALWAYS HAVE THE BEST GOD DAMN PLANS DOES HE?:"

I'm addicted to this song called Dear Sons And Daughters Of Hungry Ghosts so I put it in the player. Of course it's a track by the mighty Wolf Parade and because of it I'm gushing over their first album Apologies To The Queen Mary all over again. Love the lyrics of every song on it, they're so great! And I will see them for real! :)
