Chris Keating I love you, see you soon :D

Just the other day my mum told me I should try putting red laces into my Doc Martens after I changed them from black laces to white. Would give me even more of an edge she said. I was a bit skeptical and kind of brushed it off. But now I see the following pictures from the General Idea runway show and those boots with red laces look damn good, so I think I'm gonna find myself a pair and do the same. So fashion forward my mother is ;)

Overall this collection is very good. Nice to see those long john/tights kind of jeans/trousers combined with shorts. Ive been doing that for quite a while :) Would love to have some long johns/tights with a nice print though, but where to find those?

You know when you start listening to an album just out of curiosity and without any expectations at all and then the album turns out to be crazy good. This is what happened to me and the latest Pantha Du Prince album Black Noise. The entire album has such a nice sound, love it from beginning to end. Great mood. Only one song with vocals by Animal Collective's Panda Bear, and it kind of feels as if this whole album is build around this one song. It's strange how similar all these tracks sound and yet they still manage to set themselves apart and stand on their own. I'll be having this on repeat for a couple of days more I bet.

?\RAF SIMONS AUTUMN/WINTER~#

Sometimes it's really good to see those clothes moving instead of just looking at them as still images. Here's the Raf Simons show. I really love that long red sweater that's almost like a man dress/bodysuit. Makes for such a nice hourglass shape. And those man skirts which aren't really skirts but in a way they are. I like those as well. They look good which might come unexpected. Once again shows as long as it's a good fit and a good combination of colours those items work very well together! I used to think Raf Simons name was pronounced in the English way, thus 'Symons', but then I discovered or actually I realized it again 'cause I knew it once but I think I forgot, guy's Flemish. So it's pronounced the Dutch way. Not that this changes anything clothing wise, but it's good to know ;)

Looking at these still images really makes me realize these clothes look way better when moving. Not that they don't look good when not moving, they just look better when they do ;)

And I completely forgot about the Dr. Martens boots they designed last year. I want these soooo badly. I bet you can no longer find them anymore, but I would so buy them nomatter what price. Look how georgeous, so shiny. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

.%DR. MARTENS HUNT)|

I bought myself this perfect sweater today and a new leather bag. I'm thinking about posting pictures tomorrow. Right now I'm still on a hunt for new Dr. Martens boots, dark red ones if you please. I think they call them cherry red. They look like this:

There's also a shiny leather version

My previous pair I bought at this market in Amsterdam. Today I went there again, but the Dr. Martens sellers were nowhere to be found :(( So now I'm putting my money on eBay

I'm going for a quick nap, my eyes feel so heavy and warm

?}NORTH SEA FIASCO"}

Yesterday I went to the North Sea Jazz Festival with my parents and brother. I was a bit tired, but slept in the car. I was wearing my Dr. Martens boots and fortunately my feet didn't start to hurt. I expected to go by train, but we went by car which turned out alright and the walk from our parking spot to the event took much less time than I expected. The atmosphere was nice. It was crowded, but not too crowded. It was pretty warm but I was wearing a tanktop and shirt so I didn't end up soaked. So far so good. After checking out all the different spaces of the building I drank a mixed fruit juice. It tasted nice and even told my brother they should have put more juice in my cup. Now I regret saying that. 'Cause a couple of minutes later I started to not feel so well. That feeling did not go away. So from something like 7pm until the end of the festival I was feeling aweful. My stomach kept screaming 'I'm about to throw up!'. I didn't, not until having left the festival, but I had the feeling I could throw up any second. So even though the music was nice I couldn't enjoy any of it. When we left the place and walked back to the car I finally threw up on the street. I felt so relieved. I just wanted to get that sickness out. It's strange how exactly the same happened to me around this time last year. Only then I was doing my interrail trip and I was in Rome. Having bought some fruit outside on the street shortly after eating it I started to throw up and did so many times. I was throwing up at every corner and left traces of me everywhere around the city. It was aweful and seemed like forever. I thought the sickness was never going to pass. This time I only threw up once, but the time prior to that moment took ages. So for hours I was feeling sick and thought I was going to throw up when I didn't. Of course I didn't want to ruin the party so during Amos Lee's performance, my mum loves the guy, I decided to go and sit down somewhere in the back. I could not manage to stand any longer. So it was a bit of a nightmare to be honest and I was glad when we finally went home. I'll never, NEVER, buy any fruit or fruit juice again when out on the street or at some kind of festival. Maybe I have an allergic reaction to one one of the fruits, but something tells me it's just the combination of fruit and warmth that causes me to feel so sick.

Before feeling sick I couldn't help thinking about how much I want to go to Lowlands. I should have just bought myself a ticket and then over time I would have figured out how to get there and where to stay. I guess if I knew someone who wanted to go to Lowlands as much as me I would have ended up buying a ticket. Then I would have had someone to camp out with at the event. Just the prospect of having to do that all by myself put some doubts in my head. Now I just wished I had not cared about all that. I should have just went. :(
Bloc Party, Arctic Monkeys, Metric, Bon Iver, Beirut, Patrick Wolf... they all going to be there and I won't. I'll have myself a weeping party

During the few moments I did feel a bit better I took these pictures

P.S. Mr. Wolf and Phoenix I'm sorry for not having bought a physical copy of your albums yet. I will. Promise!

$^HEELS HURT:+

My new shoes are great, BUT they hurt the heels of my feet and before I changed to wearing other shoes than Chuck Taylor All Stars I had no idea heels could hurt so bad. I went to Amsterdam 'cause I'm looking for a certain kind of tanktop thing I want to buy. I thought perhaps they have something at Zipper this vintage store but they didn't. And then when I wanted to check out some other places the hurting began. I just knew by the time I got home there would be a bit of bleeding involved. So basically I had no other choice than take the tram back to the train station and find a train to get me and my poor feet home. Now the heels of my feet are all wrapped up in bandages.

I could use something like this!

!*START OF SUMMER VACATION=+

I just came back from a very well spent afternoon in Amsterdam. Today officialy marks the start of my summer vacation!!!!! 'cause I handed in my second version and most likely my last version of my thesis. My supervisor wasn't there, but I left it in his mailbox so hopefully he'll find it and is still able to read it before he goes on holiday. Soon I will go and send a copy to my second reader and then it will be marked and I'll be done and it's goodbye University of Amsterdam!!!! Not coming back :D

To celebrate I bought myself these huge black Dr. Martens boots at the market at Waterlooplein :))
It's true that lately I've been wearing different things than during my time in the UK. Sometimes I feel I must have slept while being there 'cause it's like I didn't do anything. I took tons of pictures but not being that serious, not with the idea of taking the best picture possible and I wasn't at all busy with finding my own style. I wish I went to London a million of times just to check out Brick Lane. If I was there right now I would go into all the shops to look for some really cool stuff. It's funny 'cause I feel my style has been more British than it ever was. I keep looking at the Topman website and order things while during my time in Canterbury I never went to Topman that much. I was being all protective of my money and it would take very long before I would make the decision to go and actually buy something. So it seems I loosened up a bit. And Topman isn't even that expensive!
But during my time in the UK I was just living life and enjoying every second of it. All that mattered were my friends and spending as much time with them as I could. I even felt I could stay there forever and no longer really cared about the future, about all the million things I still want to do and achieve. All of that didn't matter anymore. I guess I found real reasons to live.

Yesterday I saw Disgrace starring Malkovich Malkovich. I love this guy. He's so unusual looking and his voice grrrrrrrrr could listen to that all day! I was very impressed by Jessica Haines who plays his daugther. I felt she unravelled so slowly and bloomed into this beautiful young woman right before my eyes. Perhaps I should go and read the book on which it is based. Though the subject matter is quite heavy. It wasn't always easy to watch and it's hard to agree with the decisions the characters make. Really had me thinking.

Let's continue with looking at some of the collections that were shown during Paris Fashion Week. It has finished some time ago already, but who cares. Fashion continuously changes but these clothes are still relevant!

Bringing you Thierry Mugler, Comme des Garçons and Rick Owens

The good:

Rick Owens - That's me right there. It's everything I like right now. Black boots, long socks, tanktops which reach below the waist. Wish I owned every piece. Heck, even one piece would give me long time satisfaction. This is all winner.

Comme Des Garçons - Interesting shoes-sock combo. The blazers are a tid bit too wide. Would prefer them more tight. Overall good versatile collection. Really like it. Love them bow ties. Need some myself! You would think pink shoes would be a horrible idea, but they look so good. I'd buy these! No doubt.

This looks to be a bit too much, but it works:

I quite like this one look. And see, pink shoes! They remind me of this cookie or shall I say biscuit ;-) Making me hungryyyyyy

Love these bow ties!!!

I really happen to like this even though there seems to be quite an overload of colours and patterns

The mediocre:

Thierry Mugler - The one coloured suits really are his best. I quite like the white boots. I'd say mediocre overall. Just don't really like it. Overall it just doesn't work that well. But here some pictures of the looks that I think do work. These definitely belong to the good.

I like this kind of blazer this guy wears:

Good colour combination. That's what it all comes down to, knowing how to put clothes together well!

Cool blazer this one!

Really like this blazer. Look at that shape!

These Bloc Party guys move on quickly. Check out there new video for their new song One More Chance. You'll like it after the second listen ;)

Hmmmm what to watch tonight, Les Amants Réguliers or Rocco E I Suoi Fratelli???!! Both are almost 3 hours long! Or perhaps I should just go for a shorter film.
And what to do tomorrow?! Exploring a city I've never been to? Visit a museum/gallery? I at least should go and watch a movie at the Pathé cause on Tuesday they're cheaper :D
