Saw two movies at the cinema tonight, I've been seeing waaaaaaaay too many of them lately! I should start drawing again, school's beginning this week! :P

Tomorrow I'll be doing a training, 'cause I'll be working at a call center doing surveys so I decided not to go to Crystal Castles tonight, 'cause I have to be there early! Not sure how long I will last though considering my last time working at a call center only took me four days before I quit :P But there I had to try selling things to people who are not interested in buying and I'm not someone who's gonna force you into buying things you don't want.

My next gig at the moment thus becomes Bear In Heaven which I plan to actually attend, but May 11th I'll have to stop by this art school in Amsterdam to try if they are willing to accept me, so perhaps I'll have to skip that gig as well, but we'll see.

I don't think I posted these wonderful posters for Paolini's Teorema before, so I will now :)

BOOOOO! I received an e-mail this morning informing me the Seabear/Bear In Heaven gig will be split up. Seabear now is going as support for Scout Niblett in Bitterzoet while Bear In Heaven stays in Paradiso. But the ticket is now only valid for one of the two instead of both. This sucks balls :((

Today my life consisted of drawing, reading The Catcher In The Rye while drinking tea, listening to Joy Division, Talking Heads and some Ludwig Van, I know, so elitist and highbrow of me, Holden Caulfield would find me such a phoney! But it's true I totally am :D He'd probably hate my guts too 'cause I happen to be in love with cinema and if there's one thing Holden can't stand is the freaking movies!

Next week at this point I've come home after seeing FOALS play at Paradiso! Or actually, I don't think I ever make it home 'cause I'm so gonna die that night! I'm already nervous just thinking about it!

I watched La Double Vie De Véronique tonight, but I just didn't really like it as much as I expected to, was a bit underwhelmed. The love for this film, I feel, is way more because of its images than its story it seems. It really does put you in the same position as the main character, though, 'cause like her you keep wondering what exactly is going on and how is it these two women are actually connected. I think I'll appreciate it more after a second viewing. For some reason one shot in particular caught my eye, the picture you see above is a still from that moment in the film. You only see Irène Jacob's character walk through the corridors, nothing else really happens, but the way she drags her scarf behind her on the floor and the way the camera makes a dive to show it just happened to really fascinate me

I feel I'm having an identity crisis :( and no one can help me but me

I knew Seabear were coming to Paradiso as a support of a certain band, but I couldn't remember which one. Turns out they're supporting Bear In Heaven (!) and I so happen to have been listening to their last album a lot these last couple of days and I really really like it, especially this one track called Lovesick Teenagers. When listening to their album you think you listen to an old record, 'cause it seems filled with cover songs. I still feel I've heard some of their songs before. This doesn't mean their music is a total rip off or completely unoriginal though, but it sounds so good you think you listen to a great band from the past.
So May 10th I'll be there, upstairs in Paradiso, small venue hall :D

Now I'm going to ride my way home on my bike listening to MGMT's Congratulations on my headphones, it really is the perfect soundtrack for going out on the street!
